Disposal of Lost Property

When the retention period has elapsed, lost property items will be sorted by a Student Services Officer at Curtin Connect for disposal.

Two Month Retention Period

Backpacks, handbags (not including contents) Appropriate group or charity as approved by the Academic Registrar
Calculators Curtin Student Guild
Cameras Appropriate group or charity as approved by the Academic Registrar
Credit Cards Destroy
EFTPOS/Bank Cards Destroy
Driver's Licences Destroy
iPods and iPads Appropriate group or charity as approved by the Academic Registrar
Keys Destroy
Mobile telephones Appropriate group or charity as approved by the Academic Registrar
MP3 Players Appropriate group or charity as approved by the Academic Registrar
Other identity documents Destroy
Passport Return to relevant Embassy
Personal Computers (laptops, netbooks etc.) Appropriate group or charity as approved by the Academic Registrar
Personal Storage Devices Appropriate group or charity as approved by the Academic Registrar
Student ID cards Destroy
Text Books Curtin Student Guild
USB/Thumb Drives Appropriate group or charity as approved by the Academic Registrar
Wallets (not including contents) Destroy

All other lost property will be donated to a registered charity as approved by the Academic Registrar or destroyed after two months.
